Week 1
Okay, so this is still Week 1… two pics for the first week! This was taken August 7th, two days after the little munchkin was born. The midwife was telling me how much newborn babies like having their bottoms patted, and it was true, he liked it!
We were in the hospital for a few days after delivery because of Arin’s jaundice, but finally we got to go home with a to-go Bilirubin light that I legitimately had to acquire in a sketchy back alley scenario. His skin is a lovely olive yellow color, because just like me, he came out full on jaundiced.
One of the first stories my parents have of me is that I looked like a banana with sunglasses on because I was yellow from jaundice, had my head pulled with forceps and misformed, and then put in a tanning bed with mini sunnies on to sort it all out. Luckily Arin’s head came out with no interventions necessary and it is a perfect shape, and very hairy!
