One day it  was summery and the next the kids were out there in shorts and shivering!  Now every morning is a sweater day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/emme.socialduchess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20211008_075413-1400x1867.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1377\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bus comes just before 8am so it&#8217;s still at the coolest time of day before the sun has come all the way up and warmed the world.  We don&#8217;t need heavy sweatshirts yet, but at least a hoodie keeps the crisp chill off enough to not have to huddle together for warmth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/emme.socialduchess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20211008_075457-1400x1867.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1381\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both Alistair and Ariana are loving school, this is Tookie&#8217;s first year where he is there full time the whole year, last year he started late and then had to be home schooled due to coronavirus and behavior issues, and then finally switched classrooms and was able to go back in the spring and did so much better and started loving it.  It&#8217;s amazing what the right teaching environment can do!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/emme.socialduchess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20211008_075756-1400x1865.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1382\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ariana has loved kindergarten from day one, she was excited last year when she got to go to speech therapy, and that was only an hour twice a week&#8230; this year she loves being a big girl, getting to go on the bus, having fun in the classroom, making friends, playing with toys and learning new things&#8230; she&#8217;s obsessed with all of it!  Almost every day she comes home with a different hand-colored crown based on what they learned that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/emme.socialduchess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20211008_075425-1400x1867.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1384\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tookie is in an integrated class with kids from kindergarten &#8211; 2nd grade so he gets to learn at his own pace and has teachers that are used to highly energetic kids, which is amazing.  He started late and missed a lot of the reading so he struggled a bit to catch up on that last year, but his math was off the charts so he was already doing 1st grade math last year.  This way, he can get all the benefits and fun of all three grades at once and level up according to his own learning style.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/emme.socialduchess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20211008_075435-1400x1867.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1383\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arin is like a ghost this year, after spending two FULL years learning from home because of the pandemic, missing pretty much all of 7th and 8th grade, he is a dude on a mission.  I made him sign up for cross country, he didn&#8217;t want to do any sports until winter but I insisted and I&#8217;m so glad I did because he LOVES it.  He practices every day for hours after school and does weight room and has races on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  On Fridays or days he doesn&#8217;t have practice he walks around downtown with his friends and goes to get a soda or pizza at one of the hot spots.  The entire main street &#8216;down town&#8217; area is between the school and our house and it&#8217;s only about a `15 minute walk so everything here is at his fingertips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/emme.socialduchess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20211008_075747-1400x1867.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1386\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alistair and Ariana are both on the mini bus this year, which is adorably named the &#8216;Minitour&#8217; and has an extra teacher on it to help settle the little ones.  Last year Alistair was on the big bus and there were some behavior issues with kids, which of course if there&#8217;s trouble Alistair will jump on and become a part of it!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/emme.socialduchess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20211008_075422-1400x1867.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1390\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a relief that there is no opportunity for anyone to get wild and crazy on the bus and the extra teacher is there to help resolve any disputes that may arise.  I wish Arin had that, he got kicked off his kindergarten bus multiple times as well as got in trouble in 1st and 2nd grade too!  Mostly because the bus drivers were just really nasty, but still, an extra teacher on board would have saved me a lot of trouble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/emme.socialduchess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20211008_075444-1400x1867.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1387\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s always beautiful here at Howell Home in the mornings, so even though I have to roll myself out of bed, once I&#8217;m outside with the kids I&#8217;m glad I did.  Last year Arin would take Alistair out to the bus a lot of the time once he finally was back in school and I missed all the fun.  This year I get to make up for it which is why I love taking all these morning pictures of everyone&#8217;s outfits.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/emme.socialduchess.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/20211008_075416-1400x1867.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1388\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:60px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Arin was in kindergarten I would take out my fancy camera almost every morning and get pictures of him looking cute before and usually after school too!  I will have to edit and upload those, it&#8217;s hard to find my photos from back then as we have lost a few hard drives along the way, which is heartbreaking.  Now everything is stored in the cloud so I can feel safe I will have these photos for ever.
