It has been a very warm late October day, and Hanzo and Arthas decided to add some culture by re-enacting Michaelangelo’s ‘The Creation of Adam’ with hands (and paw) outstretched.

This moment is courtesy of Hanzo’s cat perch, which he spends absolutely all day, every day sleeping on and could not love more. He loves it so much he doesn’t care that the kids can stand on the table and pet him, in fact I think he enjoys it. I know whenever I pass by the door I give him a little pat down myself.

Arthas is actually very gentle with the cats now, he went through a phase last year where he would be nice for a bit and then end with hitting them, and they fell for it quite a few times before totally avoiding him for several months. Now he is older he is gentle again, and loves to stand on the table and pet Hanzo’s head, or Ahsoka when she is sleeping somewhere in the sun.

Arthas is still not speaking in full sentences, but he calls the cats Miao-miaos (which sounds similar to yum-yums which is what he calls treats from the Universal Yums box or Halloween candy). It’s very cute because he gets very excited to see his miao-miao’s when he gets up in the morning or when they wake up at night.

He also loves seeing deer out the window, and yells deer very loudly whenever he spots one. For some reason our herd of turkeys has been missing in action for the past month, we had quite a flock that would come multiple times a day, but now we are only seeing one mama deer and her two babies, the rest of the wildlife seems to have found other places to enjoy their life. At least we have our miao-miaos!

Here are the turkeys in happier times, during the full bloom of summer. They would even hang out up on the tree house! Last year, we had dozens of turkeys and they used to roost in the tree above this playhouse every night. It was so cute watching them jump up onto the garage roof and then hop from branch to branch, some would occasionally sleep in the giant tree too. After a big hurricane that knocked down some big tree branches though, they never came back, and now we have no more turkey family to watch every day.
