I love hiking through the woods, even when it’s cold. Here we have a lot of pine forests and uneven land, which makes for interesting, winding hikes even in the woods behind our house. The Japanese call this experience ‘forest bathing’ and view it as a restorative and relaxing form of therapy. They use it to lower stress levels and even fight cancer… so I guess the things we instinctively love probably all have a deeply roots in making our lives more complete.

I posted about the incredible amounts of fog and mist there have been with the odd weather changes, well here are some snaps from our morning drive. While it is frozen and barren half the year, we are lucky to live in a place with so much scenic beauty.

Today brought drizzle and fog and a much appreciated increase in the temperature after the ‘polar vortex’ we experienced following Hercules. It also made for some pretty phone snaps during this morning’s drive. More to come once I get Instagram working properly again…
