Video: Long Island Apple Picking at Breeze Hill Farm

This year I was determined to find an apple orchard experience that could compare with our old haunts in Massachusetts where we were spoiled for choice with some of the finest orchards in the world – as a matter of fact we lived in the town where Johnny Appleseed himself was born and began his famous career. Happily, on the first try we found ourselves at the beautiful, immaculately manicured, broadly-acred Breeze Hill Farm and had a great day picking apples, visiting farm animals, and enjoying the beautiful weather.

The North Fork has tons of farm stands and vineyards, but I hadn’t heard anything that inspiring about it’s apple orchards, which is why the quality and beauty of Breeze Hill Farm surprised and delighted us. If we are still here next autumn we will absolutely go back, and I’ll feel a lot better about checking out other orchards here on the East End of Long Island. Everything about the orchard, which is also an event space and wedding venue, was beautiful, immaculate, and fun. I would recommend it for apple picking or for hosting an event!

As you can see all four kids had a lot of fun and a lot of apples. We bought two bags as well as pastries, an apple pie, 2 gallons of cider and other assorted treats from their farm shop. They had the most delicious donuts we probably have ever eaten, the apple cider kind, but sadly they were all sold out! I WILL be going back just to get the donuts, I can promise you that.

I hope you enjoyed this vertical vlog! It looks best if you view it on a phone and hit full screen, that will get rid of the black bars on the side. This was once again composed of motion video clips, which is why it is choppy and clippy, but next time I will do my best to take actual video footage to share our adventures! See you soon again…

  1. This took an age to edit but I think it came out pretty good, at least you get a nice idea of what our day at the orchard was really like!
