I hate it when someone I love is out on a stormy and dangerous night. Especially when they should be warm and cozy inside with me, instead of navigating treacherous icy roads during a blizzard. Maybe I worry too much, but isn’t it so much better when your whole family is safe under one roof? On the search for a delicious lunch spot Friday, we came across what appeared to be a newly opened bakery. Lanes may have been cut across – even though the exterior did not suggest a authentic fine European bakery, we were hopeful that they would at least have some sandwiches. Sadly, no sandwiches, but they did have a passable selection of pastries, breads, cakes, and other treats. I couldn’t leave without something for my munchkin, so for dessert he got a little decorated frog cookie which was promptly inhaled.

The most lovely home-made and personally delivered birthday cake, by my sweet mother. My little sweetie and I are not doing well this weekend – he woke up Thursday night burning up with a fever and it has been downhill from there. Today we are both pretty weak but finally doing a little better, both fevers are almost gone and no one has thrown up today. Even still, we are going to be hermits again and just snuggle up around the house watching movies and napping, though I wish it was under cozier circumstances.
