Flashback to December 23, 2016
Going shopping at the toy store as a kid was always a treat, and now that most chains are closing down, we don’t have many chances to share this tradition with our own kids, but today we did.

Toys ‘R Us won’t be with us much longer, so we took the opportunity to load the babies up in their double stroller and roll through the aisles looking at all the treats and treasures.

Ariana wasn’t in the best mood because she’s still a bit little to appreciate all the wonders of the toy store, but Tookie made up for it in excitement.

We wanted to pick out a toy or two for each of the kids, and every aisle they ended up grabbing a different toy, and holding it for a few minutes before finding something better.

As you can see Tookie really enjoyed his time with this FAO Schwartz teddy bear, but he had his sights set on something else after a little while.

In the end, we did not get the bear, but we have these adorable snaps to remember the moment forever, and look back on.

I’ll be sad when the day comes that we can’t visit toy stores anymore at all, and unfortunately I think that day is coming soon. At least the big cities like London still have bespoke toy havens like Hamley’s Toy shop that I took Arin to no less than 3 times during our trip to London when he was 5, it was well worth it!

At least in the future we can plan to take all the kids to Hamley’s when we visit London in the future, I know that they will absolutely love it when Ariana is a bit older. I’m sure by that time they will all have no trouble picking out a few toys each and at specialty store prices, we will miss these Toys ‘R Us trips even more!

What a handsome lad with eyes as big as saucers looking at those toys – FAO Schwartz was the creme de la creme, too bad its gone.
