I came across this author several years ago but was reminded today of how much I loved her – both her children’s books went right into my Amazon cart and were read many times in our home. My favorite is But Who Will Bell the Cats? and here are some images of how she created the book. I spent hours pouring through her gorgeous behind-the-scenes blog about how she made these amazing fairytale images, of course, and you can too: butwhowillbellthecats.blogspot.com This book is called But Who Will Bell the Cats, and is based on an Aesop’s fable. The author,…

Biscoff is full vegan, guys!! Did you know that Biscoff cookies, the delight of any European journey, also come in plant-based vegan cookie butter spread? If you love Nutella, and you love tea biscuits… you’ll adore Biscoff! If this video has your mouth watering, you can come read more and get a yummy cake recipe on Social Duchess Magazine. The consistency of Biscoff is creamy and thick… think peanut butter, but made of cookies! Also, as I just found out, it is a VEGAN friendly food, made with all non-GMO ingredients in Belgium. It is so tasty, I assumed it…

I posted this on my personal facebook and was surprised by the amount of support I got. I’ve posted about Hyperemesis Gravidarum there before but this time, perhaps because of my swearing, it seems like this resonated with more people. I’m better to the point where I can actually be angry now, and even leave the house, but I dream of the day I can feel like an actual human again. Since I think this is a great article, I’m sharing it here too: The Ten Worst Things to Say to a Woman with Hyperemesis Gravidarum As I’ve said in…

I’m not doing so well today, I had to start an antibiotic pill yesterday evening and this morning I’m having such a hard time keeping anything down. I’m only taking Zofran (anti-vomiting for my hyperemesis gravidarum) at night so I don’t have a build-up in my system anymore, and taking it “as needed” this morning was, let’s say, not effective. In the spirit of trying to enjoy the little things even when the big things are terrible, I reached for some trusty lemon curd. Right now I have the Mackay’s brand, and I really like it. There’s none of that…

A week or two ago I got the email announcement from Le Creuset announcing their newest color, and I adore it! Marseille Blue is vibrant and exciting and I think would look great in a classic or modern kitchen. Can you imagine how much tastier a hearty rustic soup would be presented in this? Definitely going on my wish list! Le Creuset does not disappoint in their marketing photographs either, and what a treat they all are. There seems to be the heavy suggestion for this set as summer time or beachy themed accessories, which wasn’t my initial thought but…

My cutie and I, waiting for our ‘taste of home’ lunch at TGI Friday’s in Leicester Square. Sadly disappointing and overpriced – they couldn’t even get kid’s pasta right, everything was bland and oddly prepared, compared to a normal TGI Friday’s. Definitely try a Hard Rock instead if you’re craving some American Comfort Food. (Also – The Texas Embassy – not actually delicious Texan food but some odd British concoctions based on the ideas of someone who has probably never been to that area of the world.)

I finally went out and bought a new lens for my very old DSLR camera. It’s magical. It’s ALL about the lens, I cannot believe I waited so long to get this thing. So in love! Canon’s 50mm f/1.4. Perfection. Here’s a little closer: The perfect lens for capturing portraits, especially of those handsome baby brown eyes of Arin! It’s great for all types of portraits, not just close ups, and gives such a dreamy yet crisp and sharp image. Highly recommended!

John Boswell created this amazing project called the Symphony of Science that if you haven’t seen already, you must. It’s delicious, addictive, intelligent, beautiful and haunting. Here is his second piece, “We Are All Connected”. If you like this, his website is http://www.symphonyofscience.com/ and you can view this video and his first one as well. Be careful though, this stuff is highly addictive – you’ve been warned.
