Come enjoy an evening at our 300 year old historic home where our family has been living for six generations. We will make a simple dinner, look outside at the wildlife and hang out with our two Siamese cats, Hanzo and Ahsoka. After dinner we will have a relaxing walk in the garden enjoying the sunlight sparkling through the trees in late summer. After that, we will come inside to give the cats their favorite treat – fresh grown catnip! I hope you enjoy your mid-August evening with us and if you would like to come again, please subscribe to…

Flying around Moosehead Lake in the remote northern part of Maine during a beautiful summer afternoon and evening, seeing the various little islands and the connected Indian Head Lake, watch campers out in their canoes from a birds eye view high above, ending with the glorious August sunset from the sky. By night, enjoy the moody moonlight in a starless, cloudy sky as a storm gathers. Thanks for visiting, please like and subscribe on our Youtube Channel for more travels as well as home vlogs!

There is a small, ‘secret’ beach just down the road from us. It also happens to be on the way to the main local beach that we walk to, but I personally never really went to the ‘secret’ beach because I assumed it was too small and boring. My mom and my sister used to walk down there often, and it is a little closer than the main beach so we gave it a try this summer… and it was actually really fun! It’s a beautiful, quiet, sandy spot with a leafy forest lining the back and usually not very…

Miniature Roses herald the start of the Summer Season here on the Island and just called out for an infusion of purple. A unique quality of light here is that it is reflected from water on both sides of the narrow tip of Long Island, and in the sunlight everything just seems to glow. Colors dance and light refracts in the most surprising and intriguing of ways, and many artists over the centuries have found inspiration and retreat here. Both the Hamptons and the North Fork remain to this day world-renown tourist destinations and playgrounds for the rich and luxurious,…

Riding into the New Year Today is the first Monday of the year, which is a good time to think about what new adventures the year promises to bring. I am just coming out of holiday mode and being productive is so very unappealing… but it must be done. Here’s to riding to greener pastures in 2020!

We moved down to Long Island from Massachusetts at the beginning of September 2019 and it was quite the experience because after my grandparents passed away, generations of boxes and storage and furniture were all moved to Howell Home… where we were going to be living! My Dad was using it as his second home so it had already been full to the brim with all of his possessions so let’s just say the show Hoarders could have really helped us out, but instead we had to do it ourselves! Alex and his friend Joey came down for a long…

Remembering Autumn Memories… it has warmed up for the past few days and it makes me think back to other years where it warmed before the cold. This photo set is from mid-September, just as we are getting used to living at Howell Home, amongst all the mess and relics. The outside environs here were always spectacular, and even without a water view, the sunsets are amazing. What better view than ancient trees and far green fields could anyone ask for? Biking on warm early autumn evenings means bare feet and pajama pants and Tookie cruising along on his old…

Emme here- author and editor extraordinaire- sharing my stories, memories, and recommendations on creating a beautiful life well-lived though this personal blog. We have just moved to beautiful Long Island and I’ve decided to start ‘mommy blogging’ again after the past few years of just writing influencer-centric magazine articles. I have been keeping online journals, creating websites, and blogging for over 20 years and my goal is to round up and republish the majority of my old posts, photographs, and archives here on Emme Ever After. I’ve also added an About Me section if you would like to learn more.
