Ariana holding Arthas tight as they sit on the sofa for a cuddle. She loves her baby brother so much and is such a thoughtful and caring big sister, she is just delighted to hold him and play with him.

I have almost no images during the time I was pregnant with Arthas because I was intensely sick with severe hyperemesis gravidarum, however, I did manage to put on makeup for one day. This took place sometime in the third trimester, and I must have felt especially motivated that day or at least determined to put on a brave face as I was vomiting multiple times a day and nauseous the rest. The result is that I have three photos of my face looking normal and not like death warmed over, this is my favorite of those. You can perhaps…

When we lived in Portland, Maine every day was a new princess dress or four, and our Siamese cats couldn’t have a single bite to eat unattended.

A blizzard in Maine on the first day of spring isn’t exactly the best way to usher in flowers and sunshine, but here we are. Being in Maine is certainly colder and more snowy than even northern Massachusetts – and I thought growing up we were in the frozen North! It makes for happy kids who don’t mind being snow bunnies, but at this point I wouldn’t mind some spring showers and flowers. If you would like something a bit more cheerful, more entertaining, or more immersive – keep reading through our blog here at http://emme.socialduchess.com for more of our…

I love a nice Nautical themed outfit, and sailor stripes are a super easy way to incorporate this style into your wardrobe. I’ve styled my navy blue and white sleeveless shirt with a pair of navy trousers, but it would look equally good with jeans or a pair of white capri pants. Here I am wearing a very simple sleeveless roll-neck that would look sharp both lounging at home or on the deck of a fabulous yacht. You could even elevate the look with pleated skirt for a classic dressy ensemble. I love the dark navy turtle-neck deck detail which…

I added a delicious mouth-puckering lemonade spiced with cayenne to complete my plant-based feast. Probably one of my favorite lunches ever, all from Clover Food Lab inside our local Whole Foods Market! Check out Paper Duchesses Journal for more yummy vegan lunch blogs as well as lifestyle and fitness fun. Featured on Paper Duchesses’s Vegan Lunch of the Day! I’m currently obsessed with this Spicy Cold Pressed Lemonade & Baja Mushroom Sandwich from Clover Food Lab…

Flashback to December 23, 2016 Going shopping at the toy store as a kid was always a treat, and now that most chains are closing down, we don’t have many chances to share this tradition with our own kids, but today we did. Toys ‘R Us won’t be with us much longer, so we took the opportunity to load the babies up in their double stroller and roll through the aisles looking at all the treats and treasures. Ariana wasn’t in the best mood because she’s still a bit little to appreciate all the wonders of the toy store, but…

Enjoy a hang out with our family and follow along as we walk around the home of the Salem Witch Trials and get a tasty vegan lunch at a popular vegetarian spot. Also added is some footage from the end of the day when we visited the Old Burying Point on the walk back to the…

Beautiful purple flowers make the summer days shimmer. Summer time is always nice to add a pop of deep bluish purple shades to the garden and cool everything off.
