I’ve been looking for new desktop backgrounds to keep things interesting at work, and my dear sweetheart (who is unfortunately a giant Microsoft fan) immediately downloaded Bing Desktop for me. Don’t download this, it’s an extremely annoying little box that pops up and probably logs every keystroke you type – but, and this is how they reel people in – it automatically changes your desktop to a selected new photo everyday, and usually they are quite nice. Today brought drizzle and fog and a much appreciated increase in the temperature after the ‘polar vortex’ we experienced following Hercules. It also made for some pretty phone snaps during this morning’s drive. More to come once I get Instagram working properly again…

I was reading through the Fotbalfrue’s recap of her year and this one picture just sent me off to dreamland. I am recreating this moment over the summer – delicious cold salads, fresh seafood, tapas, a glass of Moscato and a poolside looking out over the ocean. Followed of course by running around on the beach, going for a swim, sunbathing, and more delicious food and wine again later. Now that it is officially the New Year, I can embrace the longing for spring. I tried to ignore it during the holidays, but now that the magic of all that is over I have nothing to distract me from the fact that I wish it were warm and winter was done. Here was what I decided to go with for New Year’s Eve. I have a nice pale shimmery nude, Orly ‘Pink Whisper’, with a thick topcoat of Orly ‘Too Fab’ which my lovely sister gave me for Christmas. She knew I’d want some bling for the Last Night! I love this ‘Too Fab’ though, it’s a hex glitter in two sizes, large and bold and small little sparkles. It goes on with a thick clear coat that leaves it smooth – no topcoat here. And the glitter doesn’t stick up at weird angles either, it’s perfect, I recommend.
